María José Maddox
Writer/Artist
Maria Maddox is a Chilean researcher, writer, and visual artist living in Denver, CO. She has a Ph.D. in 20th and 21st Century Latin American Literature from the University of Colorado Boulder.

She now works for History Colorado, where she helps produce their documentary podcast Lost Highways: Dispatches from the Shadows of the Rocky Mountains,
which is funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities.
Her areas of interest include Latinx Studies, Disability Studies, Gender and Sexuality, the intersections between Western Medicine and Humanities, and Pop Culture.

Her short story "American Flag" as published in May 15, 2021 by Collateral Journal.
And “Ari, Arizona” found a home at Pile Press, an alternative publishing collective for women, non-binary, and gender non-conforming creatives.

She was featured in Nick Wolff's documentary "Creating Apart"​ (2020.)
