Hello, my name is Allison Rebling. I am a freshman at Graceland University, majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in Hispanic Studies. I play softball here at Graceland, along with singing in the concert choir, and being a part of ASA (Association of Student Athletes). I am very thankful for this opportunity and excited to work on these projects!
My name is Rachel Alderson and I am a sophomore at Graceland University. I am in the dance team and I am also a wrestling manager. I am majoring in Hispanic Studies in hopes to work as an advocate for immigrants whether it be a immigration lawyer or working in some way to give migrants a voice. I am looking forward to all we are going to accomplish this year and I can’t wait to see what this opportunity will bring!

Hello! My name is Addy Simpson and I am a sophomore here at Graceland. I am majoring in Hispanic Studies and Sociology and minoring in Psychology. I play on the women’s soccer team and I like to stay involved on campus. I am not sure exactly what I want to do in the future but I want to be some sort of counselor or therapist and reach a larger audience.
Hola, my name is Santina Hernandez, from Kansas City, Kansas. I am a Junior studying at Graceland University in Sociology and Hispanic Studies. At Graceland I am a part of the peer mentoring program, and I am the IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Alicen's) President. I'm so excited to be a part of this!
This oral history project highlights the experiences of Mexican-American and Chicano communities in the State of Colorado. The purpose of this project is to organize a public reflection on how these communities understand and perform virtual and transnational concepts of community, kinship and solidarity and how these have been affected by the international COVID-19 health crisis.

This project is sponsored by OLA Colorado and has received partial funding from the Center for Humanities and the Arts at the University of Colorado Boulder. It is also supported by the work of individual members of the Red Global MX, Montañas Rocosas.

During the Fall Semester of 2020, a group of students from Graceland University collaborated in this project. The group undertook a variety of processes from transcription, data processing, and collaborative program planning.

Este proyecto de historia oral pretende dar visibilidad a las experiencias de mexico-americanas y mexico-americanos, así como chicanas y chicanos en diferentes comunidades del estado de Colorado. El proposito del proyecto es organizar una reflexión pública respecto a las fomras en que estas comunidades entienden e implementan ciertas actitudes y actividades relacionadas con la comunidad, la afinidad y la solidaridad -particularmente dentro del contexto de la crisis de salud provocada por la pandemia COVID-19.
