Andrea V. López, PhD Candidate

Researcher

I am a PhD student in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Vanderbilt University. My areas of research include Amerindian Literature and Oral Traditions; Medieval Literature and Religions in the Iberian Peninsula; Spanish, Indigenous, and Mestizo Chronicles of Indies; Women artistic production in the Baroque, and the Indigenous heritages in Latin American Contemporary Cultural Production. Specifically, I am deeply interested in the interactions and representations of Jews, Christians and Muslims in Spanish Literature; Inca Garcilaso de la Vega and Guamán Poma de Ayala’s chronicles; Bolivian Third Cinema; and the Andean influence in Contemporary Fusion Music in Perú.
